HIbernian Radio Show settles in to Cork & Kerry Irish Pub for September!

The Hibernian Radio show’s Police Pub Tour, which kicked off on June 10th this summer at Cork & Kerry at The Park, and has hit a variety of Irish pubs across the city since then, including The Curragh Irish Pub, the Emerald Isle, The Celtic Boxing Club, and the Father Perez Knights of Columbus Clubhouse, will settle into The Cork & Kerry Irish Pub at 10614 South Western Ave. in Beverly for the month of September, every Wednesday.

The show is hosted by Irish American personality Mike Houlihan and is dedicated to Irish First Responders, with interviews, music and comedy. The global pandemic and subsequent civil unrest in the streets of Chicago inspired Houlihan to feature local police officers exclusively on the show this summer and the guests have offered up eye-opening perspectives and riveting cop stories from their careers in law enforcement while talking with “Houli” on the show.

Houlihan said, “We’re thrilled to bring our show back to Cork & Kerry every Wednesday night at 7PM in September and encourage everybody to come by and “back the Blue” at Cork & Kerry every Wed. night. Cork holds a special place in my heart, it’s in my old neighborhood where I grew up, we shot my film “Tapioca” there as well as our recent PBS TV Show, “Our Irish Pub”. I’ve also had many a pint at this very friendly pub in Beverly and encourage all my old friends to drop by and buy me one!”

Hibernian radio debuted on WSBC 1240AM in January of 2019 and is sponsored by local favorite’s like Fox’s Pizza, McCann’s Irish Oatmeal, Sheehy Funeral Home, Local 150 Operating Engineers, Personal Injury Attorney James McGing, and The Irish American News.

Guests for September currently booked are 30-year veteran of the Cook County Sheriff’s Police , Sgt. Cathleen Lange on Wed. Sept. 2nd; Lyons Township Chief of Police Tom Herion, and Lyons Village Manager Tom Sheahan on Wed. Sept. 9th, Retired Chicago Homicide Detective Bernie Banahan on Wed. Sept. 16th, CPD and Vietnam Vet Ed May on Wed. Sept. 23rd and CPD Captain Rich McFarlane on Wed. Sept. 30th.  Hibernian radio is the place to be seen for many local Irish First Responders along with local Irish musicians Jimmy and Colman Cloonan, as well as the usual hijinks Houli is famous for.
